Funeral services will be held at 12:00 P.M. Saturday, May 19, 2012 at Our Lady of Assumption Catholic Church, 410 N. Michaud Street, Carencro, LA, for Birdie Mae Woods, 84, who entered eternal rest, Wednesday, May 9, 2012 at Regional Medical Center of Acadiana in Lafayette, LA.

Interment will be in St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Cemetery in Grand Coteau, LA.

Mrs. Woods is survived by her children, two sons, Paul Woods (Philamenia) and Dennis Woods both of Carencro, LA; nine daughters, Lena Joseph (Robert) of Houston, TX, Elritha Woods (Wesley) of Houston, TX, Elsie Joseph (Mack) of Humble, TX, Vera B. Chavis of Scott, LA, Shirley Jones (Johnnie) of Houston, TX, Jacqueline Woods (Eric) of Houston, TX, Theresa Jones (Anthony) of Humble, TX, Gertrude Charles (Tony) of Opelousas, LA and Ursula Woods (James) of Lawtell, LA; three brothers, Cleveland Bruno (Georgiana), C.J. Bruno (Mary) and Russell Bruno all of Carencro, LA; a sister, Fabiola Thibodeaux (Calvin) of Lafayette, LA; 37 grandchildren, 66 great grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and special friends. Mrs. Woods was preceded in death by her husband, C.J. Paul Woods; parents, Muarice & Charlotte Benoit Bruno; two daughters, Sherry Dean Lewis and Anna Joyce Woods; her companion, Leroy Sias; four sisters, Alberta Angelle, Marie Sias, Julia Bruno and Elsie Bruno; five brothers, Willis, Muarice, Jr., Joseph, L.J. and George Bruno.

Visiting hours will be observed from 7:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. Saturday, May 19, 2012 at Williams Funeral Home in Opelousas, LA.
