Mrs. Florence Mallet Rideau

Port Barre, Louisiana

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, August 4, 2012 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Port Barre, LA, for Florence Mallet Rideau, 90, who entered eternal rest, Monday, July 30, 2012 at Opelousas General Health System in Opelousas, LA.

Interment will be in Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery in Port Barre, LA.

Mrs. Rideau is survived by her children, five sons, Adam Rideau, Jr. (Ann), Joseph Rideau (Linda) both of Opelousas, LA, Albert Rideau (Evelyn) of Lafayette, LA, John Rideau (Mary) and Ronald Rideau both of Port Barre, LA; five daughters, Mary Metz (Joseph), Mary Fuselier, Mildred Rideau (Wilbert), Lillian Savoy (Ervin) and Pamela Bourque (Larry) all of Opelousas, LA; an adopted son, Elijah “Boobie” Mallet of Port Barre, LA; a sister, Mildred Drake (Wilson) of Crowley, LA; a special friend, Ida Nezat of Port Barre, LA; 63 grandchildren, 115 great grandchildren, 28 great-great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.

Mrs. Rideau was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 68 years, Adam Rideau, Sr.; parents, Albert Mallet, Sr. & Lillian Thomas Mallet; four children, Anna Marie Rideau, Lois Thomas, Michael Rideau and a infant son; a son-in-law, Herman Fuselier; a daughter-in-law, Sadie Boast; two sisters, Susan Dabney and Josephine Mallet; four brothers, Walter, Robert, John and Clarence Mallet, Sr. and 7 grandchildren.

The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to the following: Dr. Richard Harmon, Dr. Michael Burnell, Dr. Calvin White, Dr. Cole, Opelousas General Health System, St. Landry Home Health and Med Source/NSA Partners.

Visiting hours will be observed from 7:00 A.M. to 10:30 A.M. Saturday, August 4, 2012 at Williams Funeral Home in Opelousas, LA.
