Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, August 11, 2012 at Williams Funeral Home Chapel in Opelousas, LA, for Clarence Sonnier, 48, who entered eternal rest, Friday, August 3, 2012 at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center in Lafayette, LA.
Interment will be in St. Mary Baptist Cemetery in Port Barre, LA. Rev. Meloy Richmond and Rev. Samuel Ham will officiate at the services. During the services there will be an interpreter for the hearing impaired.
Mr. Sonnier is survived by his loving wife of 3 years, Mrs. Mary Mallet Sonnier of Port Barre, LA; two sons, Clarence Sonnier, Jr. of Lafayette, LA and Jacob Sonnier of Port Barre, LA; two daughters, Clarissa Sonnier and Diamond Sonnier both of Port Barre, LA; parents, Mary S. Tyler of Arnaudville, LA & Joseph Robert of Atlanta, GA; his mother & father-in-law, Cinderella Mallet & Herbert Mallet of Port Barre, LA; three brothers, John Tyler of Opelousas, LA, Robert Sonnier of Maurice, LA and Alfred Sonnier of Baton Rouge, LA; three sisters, Mary Comeaux (Wilton) of Maurice, LA, Connie Marcell (Henry) of Breaux Bridge, LA and Octavia Sonnier (Joseph) of Arnaudville, LA; four sisters-in-law, Roxanna E. Sonnier of Maurice, LA, Alice Joseph of Lafayette, LA, Tiffany Thomas and Casey Jones both of Port Barre, LA; four brothers-in-law, Stanley Levier, Herbert Joseph Mallet, Jr., Quinton Mallet and Roger Lee Mallet all of Port Barre, LA; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and special friends.
Mr. Sonnier was preceded in death by his foster parents, Noah & Eva Joseph; sisters, Hazel Sonnier, Mary Roberts and Betty Robert; a brother, Whitney Joseph and a brother-in-law, Hayward Mallet.
Visiting hours will be observed from 8:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. Saturday, August 11, 2012 at Williams Funeral Home in Opelousas, LA.
