JOSEPH LEON GREEN

Funeral services will be held at 9:00 A.M. Saturday, May 29, 2010, at Holy Family Catholic Church, in Lawtell, Louisiana, for Mr. Joseph L. Green, 65, who peacefully departed, Saturday, May 22, 2010, in Atlanta, Georgia.

Joseph L. Green was affectionately known to others, as Joe Pete, because of his love for Zydeco music. He enjoyed fishing, playing golf with his sons, cooking and spending time with his grandkids. He was a graduate of Carter G. Woodson, a retired U.S. Air Force man, a retired business manager, and a resident of Anchorage, Alaska.

Interment will be in Port Hudson National Cemetery, in Zachary, Louisiana. Rev. Denis Osuagwa, C.M.F. will officiate at the Mass of Christian burial.

Mourning his departure, yet cherishing his dear memories, is his children, two sons, Shen Green of Anchorage, Alaska and Curt Green (Roderetta) of Atlanta, Georgia; three grandchildren, Taja Green, Curt Green, Jr. and Jordan Green all of Atlanta, Georgia; mother, Dorothy Green of Opelousas, Louisiana; siblings, Maxine G. Dupre (Michael) of Eunice, Louisiana, Richard Green (Gayle) of Jacksonville, Florida, Brenda G. Sanders of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Cynthia Green of Opelousas, Louisiana, Michael Green of Miami, Florida and Jonathon Green of Anchorage, Alaska and a host of extended relatives and special friends.

Mr. Green was preceded in death by his parents, Cyprien & Mildred Lastrapes Green and a sister, Rebecca Green.

Visiting hours will be observed from 4:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. Friday, May 28, 2010, at Williams Funeral Home, in Opelousas, Louisiana.
