A Golden heart stopped beating, Your hard-working hands put to rest, God broke our hearts to prove to us He only takes the best. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, July 17 2021, at 11:00 A.M. at Holy Ghost Catholic Church for Antionette R. Owens, 32, who entered eternal rest on Tuesday, July 6, 2021 at her residence surrounded by family, loved ones and in the comfort care of Hospice Compassus. Interment will take place in Serenity Memorial Park. Father Lambert Lien, SVD, Pastor of Holy Ghost Catholic Church will officiate the Mass of Christian Burial. Antionette Renea Owens was born on May 10, 1989. She attended Southwest Elementary, St. Landry Charter School, Opelousas Senior High and Remington College. Prior to her illness, she worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant at Senior Village Nursing Home and Basile Care Center, Inc. Antionette grew into a beautiful, strong, young lady. She was a good daughter, a loving mother, and a sweet person who brought laughter and joy wherever she went. She enjoyed traveling, watching movies, dancing and spending quality time with her kids. One of her favorite activities was playing Pitty Pat. She loved trailrides and served as president of Trail Chaserz Trail Riders. Her survivors include three sons: Jei’Vionne D. Owens, Jihlyn D. Owens, and Brandon Matt, Jr.; one daughter, La’Kaisha D. Owens; her mother and step father, Christina Owens and Albert Broussard, Jr.; her father, Leslie Thomas; her grandfather, Howard Owens; her aunts and uncles, Michael Owens, Brenda Pelican, Linda Owens (Godmother), James Owens, Patricia Rodriguez, Josephine Owens, Gloria Thomas, Brandy (Dwayne) Stelly, Ashley Payne, John (Anthangela) Thomas, Terry Payne, Cynthia Rubin, Vernon Pitts, Kennon White, Stephanie Berry, Tina White and a host of relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Audrey M. P. Owens, Gloria Jean Payne and Leslie White; great grandparents Cora and Lee Prince and Bernice and Carlton Owens and uncle, Leslie Sam. The family requests visiting hours be observed on Saturday, July 17, 2021 from 7:00 A.M. to 10:45 A.M. at Williams Funeral Home of Opelousas, 817 E. South Street, 337-942-2037.
