Mrs. Cynthia Cunningham Cudges

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 5, 2021 at 10 A.M. at Bellevue Street Baptist Church, 326 W. Bellevue Street, Opelousas, LA for Mrs. Cynthia Cunningham Cudges, 60, who entered eternal rest on Sunday, April 25, 2021 in her residence surrounded by loved ones and in the comfort care of Hospice of Acadiana. Interment will take place in Serenity Memorial Park in Opelousas. Bishop Larry J. Lloyd, of Spirit of Liberty Christian Fellowship and Global Ministries in Lafayette, Louisiana will officiate the Celebration of Life. Cynthia leaves to cherish her memory and celebrate her legacy, husband, William Cudges, of Opelousas, LA; her children, David Louis Sylvester, Jr. of Opelousas, LA and Cydee’je Murine Payne (Craig Comeaux, Jr.) of Lafayette, LA; her mother, Gladys Washington Cunningham, siblings: Kenneth Cunningham of Opelousas, LA, Anna C. Simmons (Rubin) also of Opelousas, LA, Maxine Jefferson (Kenneth) of Baton Rouge, LA and Linda C. Greene of Opelousas, LA , as well as, a host of other relatives and special friends. Cynthia was the founder and publisher of the community newspaper “The Cyntimental Logic News “of which she was proud and passionate about “an inspirational, common sense newspaper that was assigned to me by God.” Mrs. Cunningham Cudges was preceded in death by her father, Eldridge Cunningham, Sr., brothers: Eldridge Cunningham, Jr., Michael Cunningham, Sr. and Donald Cunningham. The family requests visiting hours be observed on Wednesday, May 5, 2021 from 7:00 A.M. to 9:45 A.M. at Bellevue Street Baptist Church. Face masks are required and restrictions for public gatherings by the State of Louisiana in Phase 3 of re-opening still apply.
