Mrs. Antonia Rodriguez With heartfelt sorrow, we announce the passing of Antonia Rodriguez, who departed this life peacefully on Tuesday, September 23, 2025, at the age of 83. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, October 11, 2025, at Williams Funeral Home in Opelousas, LA. Visiting hours will be observed from 8:00 AM to 11:00 AM Saturday, October 11, 2025. Interment will be in Serenity Memorial Park. Father Korey Lavergne of St. Thomas Mission Chapel will officiate at the Mass of Christian burial. Born on July 25, 1942, in Utuado, Puerto Rico, Antonia was a long-time resident of Trenton, New Jersey, before making her home in Lawtell, Louisiana. Throughout her life, she was a woman of quiet strength, deep compassion, and unwavering love — a guiding presence to all who knew her. Antonia lived a life full of grace, love, and quiet strength. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, known for her kindness, gentle spirit, and steadfast faith. Her love was unconditional, her words always comforting, and her presence brought peace and warmth wherever she went. Whether through a lovingly prepared meal, a thoughtful prayer, or simply listening with patience and care, Antonia made those around her feel cherished. She built her life around family and faith, and her legacy is one of generosity, resilience, and deep affection. She is survived by two sons, Miguel A. Batista (Yolanda) and Rolando Batista; one daughter, Ines Maldonado (Jose); two brothers, Jose A. Romero (Delia) and Jeremiah Maldonado (Juanita); three sisters, Nereida Nazario (Jose), Nelin Romero (Ramon) and Yolanda Maldonado (Jose); eleven grandchildren, Eunice, Jessica, Erica, Bianca, Nicholas, Yuse, Allan, Michael, Sofia, Jazmine and Angelo; nine great grandchildren, Antonio, Armani, Andre, Yesslyn, Yesiel, Yesiah, Anival, Yandel and Elijah and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her mother, Amada Heredia; father, Antonio Romero; husband, Jose Luis Rodriguez and a grandson, Luiz Diaz, Jr. The family wishes to extend their sincere gratitude to Antonia’s nieces, Maria Nazario and Sicily Santiago, for their loving care and support.
