Mr. Dalton Anthony St. Romain

Dalton Anthony “Butch” St. Romain May 29, 1949 – July 16, 2020 Dalton Anthony St. Romain was born to Alton and Agnes Virl St. Romain in LeBeau, Louisiana on May 29, 1949. Dalton, better known as Butch, entered his eternal home at 7:55 p.m. on Thursday, July 16, 2020 at Opelousas General Hospital. Butch was baptized at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church at an early age. He worked for William McWilliams Dredging Company, TL James Dredging, and was working at Artel Farms before becoming disabled. He was married to Dorothy Cornelius and to this union, two children were born, Stephanie Gail and Craig Anthony. In 1977, Dalton and Gloria were united in marriage at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, to this union, two children were born, Chara Renee’ and Ciera Mae. Dalton and Gloria were married for 43 years. Butch was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and attended Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Rideau faithfully. Dalton enjoyed entertaining people. He never met a stranger. To him a stranger was a friend he had not met yet. Dalton St. Romain was preceded in death by his parents, Alton P. St. Romain, Sr. & Agnes Virl Rideau St. Romain; five sisters, Gracie Eackles, Elnora St. Romain, Dorothy Cosay, Helen Williams and Margie Shaw; one brother Alton P. St. Romain Jr. Dalton St. Romain is survived by his wife, Gloria Mae Toussaint St. Romain of Opelousas, LA; three daughters, Stephanie Gail Hicks (Loran), Chara Henry (Solomon) and Ciera St. Romain Gorrell (Troy); one son Craig St.Romain (Julia) all of Opelousas, LA. ; two brothers, Merrian St. Romain of Palmetto, LA and Eugene St. Romain (Elizabeth) of Opelousas, LA; Six grandchildren and three great-grandkids a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and special friends, aunts and uncles, Norma Jean Thierry (Ellis), Patty Thierry (August), Cynthia Collins (Clarence), and Calvin Rideau (Jennifer) and Paul Rideau. Private funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, July 24, 2020 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Lebeau, LA. A viewing will begin at 1:00 PM. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
