Mr. Earnest Antoine A celebration of life honoring Mr. Earnest Antoine, 86, will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, May 16, 2026, at Starlight Baptist Church in Opelousas, LA. Mr. Antoine entered eternal rest on Saturday, May 9, 2026, at his residence in Opelousas, LA, leaving behind a legacy of love, faith, and cherished memories. Family and friends are invited to gather in remembrance and thanksgiving during visiting hours from 7:00 AM to 10:30 AM at Williams Funeral Home prior to the service. Mr. Antoine will be laid to rest in the church cemetery as loved ones celebrate his remarkable life and the many blessings he shared with all who knew him. Rev. Paul L. Murphy, Sr., will officiate this heartfelt homegoing service. Mr. Antoine is survived by his loving wife, Mrs. Florida Pelican Antoine of Opelousas, LA; one son, Paul G. Antoine (Stephanie) of Opelousas, LA; one daughter, Karen Antoine Miller of Opelousas, LA; three sisters, Wilma Thierry (John) of Opelousas, LA, Rosa Lee Bass of Shreveport, LA and Vera Burleigh (Ray) of Houston, TX. He is also survived by five granddaughters, LaShandra Owens Mayon (Carlton “Billy”) of Opelousas, LA, Shania Colomb of Carencro, LA, Briana Stelly of Opelousas, LA, Porsche Joseph of Scott, LA and Cierra Stelly of Opelousas, LA; five grandsons, Kerry Owens (Cortney) of Marinette, WI, Carl Owens (Jennifer), Paul Germany Antoine, Briant Owens and Brian Owens all of Opelousas, LA; twenty three great grandchildren, seven great-great grandchildren; two godchildren, Gloria Chenier of Opelousas, LA and Sheba Perry of Dallas, TX and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Mr. Antoine was preceded in death by his parents, Edward Louis Antoine and Hester Bryant Antoine; siblings, Virgie Lee Jones, Joyce Ann Joubert, Anita Malveaux, Helen Lois Joubert, Edward Louis Antoine and Adam Antoine; four nephews, Alvin “June” Jones, Jr., James “Jimmy” Thierry and Thomas “Tommy” Thierry; grandparents, Yancy and Alberta Williams Antoine; father and mother-in-law, Freddie Pelican, Sr. and Graceful Benjamin Pelican Johnson; two godchildren, Shelia Bryant and Ruthell Denton.
