Mr. Eli Pierre Andrus

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday, September 1, 2018 at St. Theresa Catholic Church, 417 West 3rd Street, Crowley, LA 70526 for Mr. Eli Pierre Andrus, 78. Eli Pierre Andrus, Jr. (Bill) departed his life on earth and entered eternal rest on Sunday, August 19, 2018 while at home with the family. Eli was born on August 06, 1940 in Lafayette, Louisiana. After 32 years as a short and long haul 18-wheeler truck driver, Eli retired from Francis Drilling Fluids (FDF) in 2002. Eli was a hard-working provider who went above and beyond to help family and friends. Eli was a loving father; grandfather, brother, brother-in-law, uncle, and friend. He leaves to cherish his memories his loving wife Mary Deanna Andrus of Crowley, La., sons Eric Lee Andrus (Moki) and Joseph Andrus, Sr. (Janet) of Lafayette, La., Karl Andrus (Monica), Kenneth Thomas (Charlene) and Joseph Eugene Thomas all of Crowley, La., Terrence Woods (Geraldine), Randy Thomas (Tammie), and Tedmund Woods all of Church Point, La., and Kevin Vallier (Jarmine) of Tx., daughters MaryAnn Charles (Wilbert) and (Catherine Andrus) of Lafayette, La., Jacqueline Minix and Theresa Henny (Charles) both of Crowley, La., and Laura Thomas of Missouri City, Tx., sisters Gladys Chavis of Port Authur, Tx., Mary Ann Milton of Sunset, La., Fabiola Pierre (Wilfred) and Ruthie Wheeler of Church Point, La., brothers John “Pete” Chavis of Atlanta, Ga., Lawrence Garrick, Sammy Wheeler (Josephine) and Armstead Wheeler of Church Point, La., Raylond Wheeler of Opelousas, La., and Roy Wheeler(Karen) of Rayne, La., and 25 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren, four god children, John Wayne Milton, Inez Attle, Debra Mouton and LiToya Solomon, a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Eli was preceded in death by his parents (father/stepfather), the late Eli Pierre Andrus, Sr. and Armstead Wheeler and Irene Chachere of Sunset, La., daughter Lisa Mouton, and brothers Joseph “Sammie” Chavis, Albert Chavis, Ozen Wheeler and Eugene Wheeler, Sr. Interment will take place in Holy Family Catholic Church Cemetery, 291 Thibodeaux Street, Lawtell, LA 70550. Pastor, Father Godwin Imoru will officiate the Mass of Christian Burial. The family request visiting hours be observed from 8:00 A.M. to 10:00 A.M. on Saturday, September 1, 2018 at St. Theresa Catholic Church, Crowley, LA. A rosary will be recited at 9:00 A.M.
