Mrs. Emily Rose Roberts Chatman “Bootsie” Funeral services will be held at 9:00 A.M. Saturday, October 27, 2012 at Holy Ghost Catholic Church in Opelousas, LA, for Mrs. Emily Rose “Bootsie” Roberts Chatman, 75, who entered eternal rest, Sunday, October 21, 2012 at her residence in Opelousas, LA. Interment will be in Serenity Memorial Park in Opelousas, LA. Rev. Jaison Mangalath, S.V.D. will officiate at the services. Mrs. Chatman is survived by her husband of 58 years, Mr. James “Fargo” B. Chatman, Sr. of Opelousas, LA; five sons, James B. Chatman, Jr. (Charlene) (Debbie Chamers) of Lebeau, LA, David R. Chatman (Laura Tezeno) of Carencro, LA, Arthur J. Chatman of London, England, Benjamin C. Chatman (Carol) of Opelousas, LA and Bradley W. Chatman, Sr. (Theresa) of Triangle, VA; four daughters, Deanna M. Chatman of Opelousas, LA, Jo-Lynn C. Prudhomme, Angela L. Randell both of Plaisance, LA and Andrell N. Chatman of Opelousas, LA; a step-daughter, Janice Handy of Opelousas, LA; four step-sons, Percy Chatman, Larry Charles, Michael Chatman and James Handy all of Opelousas, LA; five brothers, Dennis Roberts of Washington, LA, James Roberts, Charles Roberts, Jessie Roberts (Myra) and Richard Roberts all of Opelousas, LA; a sister, Louise Roberts Fuselier (Kendall) of Charlotte, N. Carolina; three brothers-in-law, Nolan Chatman (Leola), Ken Gunner both of Franklin, LA and Alcide Tezeno of Opelousas, LA; five sisters-in-law, Mary Chatman, Harriett Chatman both of Franklin, LA, Joyce Miller, Betty Roberts both of Opelousas, LA, Mary Williams of New Iberia, LA; a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and neighbors. Mrs. Chatman was preceded in death by her parents, Dennis & Irene Thomas Roberts; a set of twins, September and October Chatman; two brothers, Roland Roberts, Sr. and Benjamin Roberts; two sisters, Gloria Lee Roberts Jones and Caroline Roberts Tezeno; four brothers-in-law, McCaster Chatman, Freddie M.Williams, Griffin Pat Miller and Clarence Chatman and a sister-in-law, Georgia Mae Edwards. Viewing hours will be observed from 5:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. Friday, October 26, 2012 and 7:00 A.M to 8:45 A.M. Saturday, October 27, 2012 at Williams Funeral Home in Opelousas, LA.
