Mr. Flanoid Joubert

Mr. Flanoid “Tut” Joubert Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, August 22, 2026, at St. Mark United Methodist Church in Opelousas, LA, for Mr. Flanoid “Tut” Joubert, 80, who entered eternal rest Friday, August 14, 2026, at his residence in Opelousas, LA. Visiting hours will be observed from 8:00 AM until the time of service at the church. Mr. Joubert will be laid to rest in Serenity Memorial Park with full military honors, in recognition of his honorable service to his country. Rev. Junius Egby will officiate the services. Flanoid accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior at an early age and was baptized at Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Opelousas, LA. His faith remained an important part of his life throughout the years. He was a proud graduate of J.S. Clark High School, Class of 1963, where he distinguished himself both academically and athletically as a four-year member of the baseball team. He continued his education at the renowned Grambling State University, where he became a member of the illustrious Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. Flanoid was also a proud member of the Prince Hall Masonic tradition, the oldest and largest predominantly African American Masonic fraternity in the world, reflecting his commitment to brotherhood, service, and community. He leaves to cherish his memory his devoted wife, Mrs. Mary Ann Darby Joubert of Opelousas, LA; his beloved daughter, Tamika Younger (Rashidi) of Houston, TX, whom he loved with all his heart; and his two cherished grandchildren, Royce Jabari Younger and Tristyn Macayle Younger, both of Houston, TX, who held a very special place in his heart and could seemingly do no wrong in their proud grandfather’s eyes. He is also survived by two brothers, Johnny Joubert and Wilson Joubert both of Opelousas, LA; one sister, Rose Lee Thomas of Opelousas, LA and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Watkins Joubert and Elderia Williams Joubert; stepparents, Willie and Lucy Duplechain; six brothers, Watkins Joubert, Jr. Jefferson Joubert, Leroy Joubert, Amos Joubert, Frederick Joubert and Oliver “O.G.” Joubert; two sisters, Lula Mae Joubert Champ and Julia Mae Joubert Arvie.
