Mrs. Frances Emerson Haynes We, Williams Funeral Home, are mourning the loss of our beloved owner, Mrs. Frances Emerson Haynes, 87, who took her last breath Friday night, October 19, 2012 at Opelousas General Health System in Opelousas, LA. We will celebrate her life at 11:30 A.M. Friday, October 26, 2012 at Holy Ghost Catholic Church, 732 N. Union Street in Opelousas, LA. Mrs. Haynes will be laid to rest alongside her husband, Mr. Alvin Haynes, Sr. at Bellevue Memorial Park in Opelousas, LA. She was a lifelong member of Holy Ghost Catholic Church, Louisiana Retired Teachers Association, University Women (St. Landry), Funeral Directors/Council, Williams Progressive Insurance Board Member, Knights of Peter Claver Ladies Auxiliary Holy Ghost Court 8, Senior Sodality, Eastern Star Golden Star Chapter 26 and Legion of Mary. Her energetic spirit, her will to help others, and her legacy will live on through her children, four sons, Alvin “Chubby” Haynes, Jr. (Stephanie), Vernon Haynes, Sr. (Joyce), Karl Ray Haynes, Sr. (Barbara) and Gregory Haynes, Sr. (Evette) all of Opelousas, LA; a special son, Joseph G. Singleton (Lillie) of Opelousas, LA; a sister, Velma E. Smith of Opelousas, LA; 7 grandchildren, Chandra Haynes Labrie (Steve), Alvin Haynes, III (Francella), Angela Thibodeaux (Christopher), Ron Haynes, Vernon Haynes, II, Jared Haynes, Gregory Haynes, II, Karl Ray Haynes, II, Devon Batiste and Kendrick Bushnell; 3 step-grandchildren, Mark Richard, Quinton Richard and Tyler Pruitt; 14 great grandchildren, Ty, Leigh, Peyton, Amyah, Christopher, Anthony, Justin, Blake, Landon, Keon, Javalon, Kylie, Tyreik and Clarence and 1 step-great grandchild, Ryan. Mrs. Haynes will be joined with her family, her husband, Mr. Alvin Haynes, Sr.; parents, Eva Velma Zachary & Lawrence Henry Emerson; seven sisters, Julia Bourque, Florence Francois, Marie Emerson, Vivian Brigham, Helen Arceneaux, Jewella Hardaway and Beatrice Fournier; two brothers, Lawrence H. Emerson and Eddie Emerson and her second husband, Mr. Arlis Jerome Richard. Visiting hours will be observed from 3:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. Thursday, October 25, 2012 at Williams Funeral Home in Opelousas, LA. The Rosary will be recited at 7:00 P.M. Visiting hours will resume on Friday, October 26, 2012 at Williams Funeral Home from 7:00 A.M. to 9:15 A.M. and 9:30 A.M. to 11:30 A.M. at Holy Ghost Catholic Church in Opelousas, LA.
