Mrs. Gloria Ann Johnson

“My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.” Psalm 73:26 Gloria “Sweet Glo” Johnson was born February 24, 1953 to Willie Anderson, Sr. and Virginia Guillory Anderson. She was a resident of Sunset, Louisiana before marrying the “Love of Her Life” James “Jimbo” Johnson, then moving to Opelousas, Louisiana where she resided until her transition to heaven. She worked at MarCann Printing Company for many years before going to work at was Doctor’s Hospital as a cafeteria cook. She loved spending time with her family, cooking for everyone, gloating on how smart and talented her grandchildren were and going fishing. She leaves to mourn four daughters: Pamela Payne (Paul) of Opelousas, Louisiana, Patricia Johnson-Sims (Eric, Sr.) of Lancaster, Texas, Clementine Monique Randell of Opelousas, Louisiana and Jessica Bernard (Sidney, Sr.) of Glenn Heights, Texas. Eight grandchildren; Eric Sims, Jr., Derrick Sims, Brandon Sim, Nyla Randell, Conner Payne, Thomas “TJ” Randell III, Eryn Paisley Sims and Sidney Bernard, Jr. One great-granddaughter Aryiah Sims. Three sisters Rose Marie Rickett of Dallas, Texas, Terri Henry and Donna Henry, of Sunset, Louisiana; three brothers Charles Anderson (Linda) of Opelousas, Louisiana, Willie Anderson, Jr. (Margaret) and Anthony Anderson, Sr. both of Sunset, Louisiana. For sisters-in-law; Bettye Strother (Edward) of Fort Myers, Florida, Jeanette Pitts of Atlanta, Georgia, Alice Thomas (A special Friend Wilbert Simmons) of Opelousas, Louisiana and Rose Marie Vereen (Jasper) of Miami, Florida. Gloria Johnson is proceeded in death by her husband of 49 years, James “Jimbo” Johnson, her parents Willie and Virginia Anderson, Sr., in-laws Johnny and Audria Johnson, Sr., two brothers John Anderson and Moses Raymond Anderson and one sister Alice Colomb. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM Saturday, December 10, 2022 at Williams Funeral Home in Opelousas, LA.
