Mr. Graveus Lafleur In God's omnipotent wisdom and divine orchestrated plan, the sun rose in the country town of Grand Prairie, Louisiana on May 31, 1949, welcoming in a new day and a new life. Euress LaFleur, was born to the late Ewell and Annie Belle Collins LaFleur, the oldest child born to this union. On Saturday, October 25, 2025, around 1:00 PM, Euress peacefully stepped into the arms of the Lord and took flight, on wings of angels to his eternal home. A memorial service celebrating his life will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, November 8, 2025, at Williams Funeral Home in Opelousas, Louisiana. Friends and family are welcome to gather and share memories from 8:00 AM to 10:00 AM before the service. Euress, also known as “Boy” was the oldest of four siblings and grew up in the country town of Grand Prairie, Louisiana. During his life, he worked in construction, skillfully operating backhoes and dozers. In his younger days, he enjoyed hunting and fishing—simple pastimes that brought him great joy and peace. Euress had a unique personality, which many may have known. Though he was not openly spiritual, he held a deeply personal relationship with God through prayer. He leaves to cherish his memories, two brothers, Harold LaFleur (Clara) of Opelousas, LA and Lloyd LaFleur of Ville Platte, LA; his children, Vris Thomas (Myra) of Houston, TX, Clifton Thomas of Dallas, TX, Daniel Thomas, Jerome Thomas both of Crowley, LA, Tyrone Thomas (Carsandra) of Opelousas, LA, Clinton Thomas of Oberlin, LA, Jamal LaFleur (fiancé’, Courtney Richard) and Ebony LaFleur Ardoin (William) both of Opelousas, LA; fifteen grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his wife, Carrie LaFleur; parents, Ewell and Annebelle Collins LaFleur; one brother, Kernest LaFleur; one sister, Edith LaFleur Fontenette; a daughter, Amanda LaFleur; a granddaughter, Leasia Thomas and a grandson, Treven Thomas. Though he has departed from this earthly life, his spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
