Mr. James C. Bellard A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12:00 PM on Saturday, July 11, 2026, at Holy Ghost Catholic Church in Opelousas, LA, honoring the life of Mr. James C. Bellard, 77, who entered eternal rest on Sunday, June 28, 2026, at his residence in Lawtell, LA. Family and friends are invited to pay their respects during visitation, which will be held from 8:00 AM until 11:30 AM on Saturday at Williams Funeral Home in Opelousas. Following the Mass, Mr. Bellard will be laid to rest in Holy Family Catholic Church Cemetery in Lawtell, LA. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Justin Arockiasamy, S.V.D. Mr. Bellard is survived by his brother, Antoine Bellard, Jr. (Kathy) of Houston, TX and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Mr. Bellard was preceded in death by his parents, Antoine & Edola Bellard; three brothers, Lionel Bellard, Paul Bellard and Ewell Bellard; two sisters, Juanita Bellard Thibodeaux and Loicy Citizen. The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to Mr. Mark Hanna, former owner of Cal-Chlor, for taking James under your wing and treating him with such kindness and respect. James thought very highly of you, and your unwavering friendship, guidance, and genuine care meant more to him than words can express. Thank you for always looking out for him and for the compassion you extended not only to James but also to his family. The family also extends their sincere appreciation to Todd Trahan for his friendship, support, and kindness throughout the years.
