Mr. James “Jimmy” Williams, Sr. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday, March 25, 2023 at Holy Ghost Catholic Church in Opelousas, LA, for Mr. James “Jimmy” Williams, Sr., 84, who entered eternal rest, Sunday, March 19, 2023 at Opelousas General Health System. Interment will be St. Leo the Great Catholic Cemetery in Leonville, LA. Father Justin Arockiasamy, S.V.D., Pastor of Holy Ghost Catholic Church will officiate at the Mass of Christian burial. Jimmy Williams is survived by four sons, James Williams, Jr. (Roslyn) of Lafayette, LA, Harold Williams, Sr. (Kassandra) of Carencro, LA, Anthony Williams (Amanda) of Opelousas, LA and Anthony Maxwell Williams of Atlanta, GA; two daughters, Marie Ronette Page (Kevin, Sr.) of Biloxi, MS and Marie Annette Greene (Dorsey, Sr.) of Opelousas, LA; one brother, Jewel Williams (Dora) of Opelousas, LA; one sister, Lou Verdie Williams – Smith (Ashton) of Lafayette, LA; five sisters-in-law, Gloria Williams of Loreauville, LA, Philoman Mayon of Leonville, LA, Flozia Reed of Houston, TX, Jeanella Beverly of Opelousas, LA, Elizabeth Green (Ronald) of Houston, TX and Geraldine Thomas of Leonville, LA; three brothers-in-law, Joseph “T-Boy” Thomas of Leonville, LA, and Leland Thomas, Sr. (Earline) of Leonville, LA, Carlton Thomas, Jr. (Linda) of Opelousas, LA; thirty grandchildren, twenty great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Jimmy Williams was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Louanna Thomas Williams; a daughter, Rona Marie Williams; granddaughter, Sonja Marie Page; his parents, Anthony Williams & Regina Stelly Williams; father and mother-in-law, Carlton Thomas, Sr. and Marie Lucille Alsandor Thomas; one brother, Oscar Williams, Sr.; seven brothers-in-law, Ulton Mayon, Sr., Ernest Reed, Joseph Lewis, Sr., Joseph Richard, Sr., Paul Johnson, Sr., Henry Thomas and John Beverly, Sr.; five sisters-in-law, Rose Richard, Verlia Lewis, Verna Johnson and Selena Thomas; nieces, nephews, and many more family members and friends who have gone to Glory before him. Visiting hours will be observed from 7:00 AM to 9:45 AM Saturday, March 25, 2023 at Williams Funeral Home.
