Mr. Jude “Bunny” Lastrapes Funeral services will be held at 12:00 PM Wednesday, April 12, 2023 at St. Leo the Great Catholic Church in Leonville, LA, for Mr. Jude “Bunny” Lastrapes, 90, who entered eternal rest, Tuesday, April 4, 2023 at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Nursing Home in Opelousas, LA. Interment will be in St. Leo the Great Catholic Cemetery. Mr. Lastrapes is survived by six children, Keith Lastrapes of Jacksonville, FL, Tanya Lastrapes Griffin of Woodstock, GA, Darin Lastrapes and Alanna Lastrapes Barbour both of Opelousas, LA Dionne Lastrapes Williams of Frisco, TX and Scott Lastrapes of Columbia, MD; special goddaughter, Alicia Auzenne of Opelousas, LA, three daughters-in-law, Wanda and Rosalind Lastrapes and Dawnia Richard; two sons-in-law, Scott Griffin and Antonio Williams; twenty three grandchildren, Ashley, Henley, Kara, Lance, Ricardo, Nicholas, Erin, Ryan, Shelbi, Sierra, Hunter, Jordyn, Madison, Nyah, Jaya, Linda, Courtney, Norman, Gerryn, Tony, Samantha, Alyssa and Kennedi; nine great-grandchildren, Morgan, Kaiden, Peyton, Addison, Beau Danielle, Micaiah, Korryn, Gloriana and Ayla; three sisters, Sigrid Donatto of Church Point, LA, Paula Williams of Addis, LA and Euretta Lee of Houston, TX; one brother, Don Lastrapes of Grand Coteau, LA; four godchildren, Julie Chenier, Eric Chavis, Paul Lastrapes, an adopted son, Lloyd Mumphord of Opelousas, LA; and a host of family and friends. Mr. Lastrapes was preceded in death by his wife, Velma Auzenne Lastrapes; two sons, Todd Anthony and Jude Thaddeus Lastrapes; his parents, Henly, Wilda and Grace Lastrapes; father and mother-in-law, Aramise and Carrie Auzenne; two sisters, Izola Chenier and Augustine Simon; four brothers, Henly “Rags” Lastrapes, Joseph “Neesa” Lastrapes, Thomas “TI” Lastrapes and James “Cap” Lastrapes; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law. Visiting hours will be observed from 7:00 AM to 11:30 AM Wednesday, April 12, 2023, at Williams Funeral Home. A Rosary will be recited at 9:00 AM.
