Mr. Larry Anthony Rideau

Mr. Larry Anthony Rideau Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, August 31, 2024 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Lebeau, LA, for Mr. Larry Anthony Rideau, 67, who entered eternal rest, Monday, August 19, 2024 at Ochsner Lafayette General Medical Center. Interment will be in Immaculate Conception Catholic Church Cemetery. Larry Anthony Rideau born on October 24, 1956 to the late Curcy Rideau, Sr.and Arsene Chenevert-Rideau in Lafayette, Louisiana. Larry attended Immaculate Conception Catholic School in Lebeau, Louisiana until the 8th grade and graduated from Morrow High School in Morrow, Louisiana. After he graduated from High School, he served in the United States Army for 6 yrs. During this time Larry was married to Irma L. Baker-Rideau and to this union they had a daughter, LaShawndra Rideau. Larry began his career as a mechanic under the supervision of our Dear Uncle Joseph Williams. He also was a bus driver for St. Landry Parish School District for many years until he retired. Larry was blessed to have a second marriage to Betty Charles-Dixon Rideau for over thirty years, until her death February 14, 2024. Larry leaves to cherish his memory: daughter, LaShawndra Rideau; stepdaughters, Quanda Charles, Lakeshia Dixon, Colandra Dixon all of Maringouin, LA and Dominique (Louatez) Wilson of Morrow, LA; five stepsons, Willie Dixon II, Clyde Dixon, and Joshua Dixon all of Maringouin, LA and Brandon (Rhonda) Dixon of Lottie, LA and Lamar (Zahkeya) Dixon of Lafayette, LA ; seven grandchildren, LaShawnna, LaShawn, Jason, Dylan, Lauren, Layla and Lucylyn Rideau all of Palmetto, LA; two brothers, Curcy Rideau (Dell) of Houston, Texas and Gregory Rideau of Rosa, LA; five sisters, Betty Blue of Lake Charles, LA, Rita Jean Green (William) of Houston, TX, Jude J. Arceneaux (Steve) of Crosby, TX, Katherine Jackson of Houston, TX and Marie Marshall of Missouri City, TX; two uncles, Lawrence Chenevert (Lucy) of Arnaudville, LA and Albert Motte of Baytown, TX and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Curcy Rideau, Sr. and Arsene Chenevert Rideau-LaCour; stepfather, Alfred LaCour; wife, Betty Dixon-Rideau; uncle, Joseph Williams; Auntie, Veronica Williams who we loved so dearly and one sister, Wanda Rideau. Visiting hours will be observed from 8:00 AM to 10:30 AM Saturday, August 31, 2024 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.
