Lelia Guillory Curette

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 21, 2019 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Lebeau, LA, 103 Lebeau Church Road, at 11:00 A.M. for Leila Guillory Curette. Interment will take place in the church cemetery. Pastor, Rev. James P. Fallon, SSJ, will officiate the Mass of Christian Burial. Lelia Guillory Curette was born in the community of Mallet, LA on September 14, 1935 to the late Opston Guillory, Sr. and Dorcenia Ceasar. Lelia married Jack Curette on December 2, 1967 and raised three girls, Liz, Jane and Margaret in Palmetto, LA. Lelia, a faithful Christian, departed this earthly abode for her heavenly home from her residence in Opelousas on Wednesday, December 11, 2019. Lelia was a faithful homemaker, wife and mother. She loved working in her garden, cooking and baking for her family and taking care of her daughters. As a creative and wise woman, she was always available as a teacher, nurturer, and storyteller. She was able to make resources stretch to allow her family to experience life to its fullest. With her welcoming and kind personality, she never met a stranger. Lelia leaves to cherish her memory four daughters: Agnes Guillory of Mallet, LA, Elizabeth (James) Pierre of Monroe, LA, Jane (Patrick) Edwards of Opelousas, LA, and Margaret (Kevin) Patton of Richmond, TX; one sister: Martha (Gordon) Davis of Baton Rouge, LA; four brothers: Elgin (Jeanella) Guillory of Eunice, LA, Gilbert Guillory of Mallet, LA, Elton (Carol) Guillory of London, England, Charles (Gwen) Guillory of Baton Rouge, LA; thirteen grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, god-children, other relatives and friends. Lelia was proceeded in death by husband, Jack Curette; parents, Opston and Dorcenia Guillory; six brothers: Wilbert, Jerome, Phillip, Opston Jr., Albert, and Irving Guillory; and grandson, Alexander Curette. The family requests visiting hours be observed on Saturday, December 21, 2019 from 8:00 A.M. to 10:45 A.M. at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.
