Mrs. Martha Dean Auzenne Biagas On September 15, 1952 the Lord blessed the union of Ashton and Edna Auzenne with the birth of their first of four children, Martha Dean Auzenne. Martha was a devout Catholic who instilled the values of prayer, Mass attendance and faith in all around her, especially her nieces, nephews, and Godchildren. “Nanny” as she was affectionately referred to by most family members especially her godchildren, took advantage of every opportunity to treat and spoil her great nieces and nephews. She retired from sales and retail industry after forty-five years of service. She loved fishing, crabbing, growing flowers especially roses. She was a professional at arts and crafts: ceramics, crocheting, macrame and silk floral arrangements. She was an excellent cook and baker and loved doing so for her family. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, September 9, 2022 at St. Jules Mission Catholic Church in the community of Prairie Laurent, LA, for Mrs. Martha Dean Auzenne Biagas, 69, who entered eternal rest, Saturday, September 3, 2022 at her residence in Opelousas, LA. Interment will be in Bellevue Memorial Park. Mrs. Biagas is survived by her mother, Edna Lemelle Auzenne of Opelousas, LA; one brother, John Randy Auzenne (Katrina) of Opelousas, LA; two sisters, Enola Jean Auzenne Lewis of Opelousas, LA and Crisenda Auzenne Joseph (Rody) of Port Arthur, TX; one niece, Alisha; four nephews, Byron, John Alex and Devin; two great nieces, Kennedy and Avery; two great nephews, Grant and Christian; six Godchildren, Randy, Jason, Alisha, John, Stephone and Alex and a host other relatives and friends. Mrs. Biagas was preceded in death by her father, Ashton Auzenne; paternal grandparents, Honore and Elizabeth Auzenne and paternal grandparents, Sostain Lemelle, Sr. and Isaure Auzenne Lemelle. The family would like to extend sincere gratitude to Father Darren Eldridge and Louisiana Hospice and Palliative Care, for outstanding compassionate care given for the last year and seven months of her life and to the many for their prayers, visits, support and concern.
