Martin Wayne “Cowboy” Manuel entered peacefully into eternal rest on Monday, May 4, 2026, at his residence, surrounded by his loving family at the age of 63. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in his honor at 12:30 PM on Saturday, May 16, 2026, at Holy Ghost Catholic Church in Opelousas, LA, officiated by Rev. Joshua Munterim, SVD. Family and friends are invited to attend visitation beginning at 7:00 AM until 12:00 PM at Williams Funeral Home prior to the service. A Rosary will be recited at 9:00 AM. His final resting place will be in Bellevue Memorial Park. Mr. Manuel is survived by his loving wife, Mrs. Della Reese Lewis Manuel of Opelousas, LA; three daughters, Victoria Manuel Lewis (Jamey), Devin Manuel McKnight (Brandon) and Danielle Y. Castille all of Opelousas, LA; one son, Chad Douglas (Ashley) of Opelousas, LA; seven brothers, Joseph Lionel Manuel, Jr., Charlie Manuel (Patricia), Andre Manuel (Myrtle), Christopher Guidry, Sr. (Annette), Scottie Johnson (Unrica) all of Opelousas, LA, Marvin Manuel of Baton Rouge, LA and John Manuel of Tensas, LA; two sisters, Jacqueline Small (Leonard) of Zachary, LA and Pamela Chapman of Opelousas, LA. He is also survived by five brothers-in-law, Bernard Lewis, Jr. (Mary), Dwight Lemons, Vernon Lemons, Anthony Savoy (Michelle), Kyle McLendon and Martin McLendon (Charlette) all of Opelousas, LA; four sisters-in-law, Liler Florence of Opelousas, LA, Sheila Lewis of Phoenix, AZ, Verronda Flanagan of Fresno, TX and Bernadine Lewis of Milwaukee, WI; two cherished grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Mr. Manuel was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Lionel Manuel, Sr. and Ida Mae Lazard Manuel; his father and mother-in-law, Bernard Lewis, Sr. and Victoria Auzenne Lewis; one sister-in-law, Vickie Lester Lewis; three brothers-in-law, Von Chapman, Lucius Florence and Robert A. Lewis; and one niece, Michelle Denise Lewis.
