Mr. Norbert Hayton Lee

Norbert Hayton Lee, 68, of Lafayette, Louisiana, passed away on December 27, 2025. He was born on August 6, 1957, in Houston, Texas, and raised in Opelousas, Louisiana. He attended Opelousas Catholic School and later Grambling State University, where he met his future wife, Jane Charles. Norbert spent more than 30 years working in the oil field, a career shaped by reliability, discipline, and a deep commitment to providing for his family. He and Jane raised their four children in Lafayette, and his greatest pride was being their dad - encouraging, supporting, and showing up in the moments that mattered. Norbert loved the simple things: a great book, a good meal, and time with the people he loved. He was an avid reader and had a particular love for John Grisham novels. He was happiest at home with family, Jane’s Cajun cooking, and a game on TV. A lifelong sports fan, he took special joy in watching his children play - and later, cheering on his grandchildren at dance recitals and track meets. Norbert loved animals, and dogs held a special place in his heart. He is survived by his beloved dog, Jazzy, who brought him comfort and companionship. Norbert was preceded in death by his mother, Gloria Lee. He is survived by his father, Hayton Lee; his wife, Jane Charles Lee; his children, Falon Blyss Cormier, Kyle Lee, Myles Lee, and Kaleb Lee; his grandchildren, Logan Cormier and Ava Cormier; his sister, Juliette Moffett; his brother, Artis Davenport; and many extended family members and friends. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, January 17, 2026, at 12:00 p.m. at Holy Ghost Catholic Church in Opelousas, Louisiana. A repast will follow at the Holy Ghost Parish Life Center Hall. Norbert will be remembered for his steady presence, his love of family, sports, and stories, and for a love that reached beyond words-quiet, constant, and enduring, even now. It will continue to live on in the family he built and the countless moments he showed up for.
