Mr. Ricky Gilbert Rosette

In Opelousas, Louisiana on the blessed day of July 22, 1949 - Ricky Gilbert Rosette, was born the 2nd of seven children to Christian parents, Mervin and Gertrude Rosette, both of whom preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his Maternal Grandparents Ben & Estelle Jackson, paternal Grand Parents - George and Ellen Batiste Rosette, two Sisters - Patricia Rosette (194 7) and Tara Alexander (2001); and 1 Brother - Chris Rosette (1988). The childrearing, which was continuously deposited in Ricky's life by loving and caring parents and grandparents, afforded him a remarkable life of 74 years. Ricky accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at Mt. Pilgrim Missionary Baptist Church in Opelousas, LA. In his younger years, Ricky played the piano, basketball, and tennis. He attended public school in Opelousas, Louisiana, and graduated Cum Laude with a BA degree in Business from Southern University A&M College, Baton Rouge, LA. While at Southern, he was initiated into Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity and later was welcomed with the birth of his oldest daughter - Tiffiney Cheray. In April 1972, Ricky married Gloria Stelly of Opelousas, LA. Into this union, one son was born - Shannon Gilbert. Ricky and Gloria moved to Houston and began their work life. Ricky enjoyed life immensely and was no stranger to work. His work experience consisted of many jobs as Accounting Manager at many firms. He enjoyed playing tennis and chess. In 1987, Ricky moved to Albuquerque, NM. He lived life on his own terms - always minding his business. In April 1989, Ricky married Cheryl Simmons, and into this union two girls were born; Kristina and Tylen, and they became a blended family as Ricky adopted her son - Ryan. Ricky departed this earthly life on Thursday, June 22, 2023. He leaves in God's care, five children: Tiffiney Cheray of Houston, TX, Shannon Gilbert (Amanda) of Napa, CA, Ryan Rosette of San Diego, CA, Kristina Rosette of Allen, TX, and Tylen Boston (Tyler) of North Richland Hills, TX; one brother: Scottie of Albuquerque, NM; two sisters: Patty Castaneda and Jacqueline Pierce (Dany) of Houston, TX; five grandchildren: Sabrea Johnson (Christopher) of Houston, TX, Evan Rosette and Sawyer Rosette of Napa, CA, Makayla Rosette of Allen, TX and Jonas Boston of North Richland Hills, TX; 10 Nephews: Dimitri Lopez-Rosette, Roderick (Candis), Longine Alexander, Justin Rosette, Perris Alexander (Angelina), Perris Alexander, II, Mykeal Tillman, Jordan Smith, Isaiah Ellis, and Kasin DeWayne; nine nieces: Nina Ellis (Telly), Mia Ellis, Sydney Ellis, Tonyka Kelly (Crandall), Peyton Smith, Adriana Alexander, Bianca Alexander, Samati Alexander, and Kyra Alexander; four aunts: Georgia Guillory, and Shirley Ann Rosette-Brown, Annie Rosette, and Sybil McCray; and one uncle: Don (June) Rosette, and a host of cousins, other relatives and friends.
