Mr. Robert Thomas, Sr. “Bob” LEONVILLE- Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, June 7, 2014 at St. Catherine Catholic Church in Leonville, LA for Mr. Robert Thomas, Sr., 84, who entered eternal rest on Monday, May 26, 2014 at J. Michael Morrow Memorial Nursing Home in Arnaudville, LA. Interment will be in St. Leo Catholic Cemetery in Leonville. Father Ken Domingue will conduct the Mass of Christian burial. Robert is survived by: six sons, Robert Thomas, Jr. (Shirley), Joseph Alvin Thomas both of Arnaudville; Joseph Melvin Thomas, John Thomas, and Junius Lionel Thomas all of Port Barre, LA and Leonard Thomas of Leonville; four daughters, Clara Mae Thomas, Mary Bernadette Thomas, Mary Louvenia Thomas Gilyard (Phillip), and Marie Thomas Pickney (Tracy) all of Leonville, LA; one brother, Paul Stein of Leonville, LA; one sister, Aline Pickney (Peter) of Opelousas, LA; two brothers-in-law, Leonard Cormier and Al Brown both of Houston, TX; a sister-in-law, Theresa Stein of Leonville, LA; former brothers-in-law, Arcade Joseph Comeaux and Herbert Onezine; twenty six grandchildren, sixty great grandchildren, two great-great granddaughters, one godson, Joseph Riggs of Houston, TX; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Robert was preceded in death by his loving wife Dorothy Mae Lastrapes Thomas, his parents, Ruffuo Thomas and Mary Bernadette Henry Stein; stepfather Hypolite Stein; two grandsons, Charles Kendal Pickney and Scott Wilson Thomas; three brothers, Wilfred Thomas, Joseph Stein, Sr., and Joseph Lonnie Stein; one dauther-in-law, Barbara Thomas; one former daughter-in-law, Lee Joyce Cooper; four sisters-in-law, Loyce Stein, Martha Stein, Shirley Brown, and Theresa Cormier; one brother-in-law, Shelton Cormier; godparents, Joseph and Evelina Thomas; step grandson, David Major; nephews, Anthony Stein, Arcade (Pookie) Joseph Comeaux Jr., and Paul Dominic Comeaux; great nephew, Cedric Sam, Phillip Mayon, Jr. and Alvin Onezine Jr., and great niece Hailey Mayon; father-in-law, Wilson Lastrapes and mother-in-law, Louvenia Cormier. Visiting hours will be observed from 7:00 AM until 10:45 AM Saturday, June 7, 2014 at St. Catherine Catholic Church in Leonville, LA.
