Ms. Rose Davillier

Rose Davillier March 31, 1957 – April 15, 2025 Rose “Lacy” Davillier, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away on April 15, 2025, at the age of 68. Born Rose Mary Simian on March 31, 1957, in Lafayette, Louisiana, she was the daughter of Lucy Mae Boutte Simian. She was raised and cared for throughout her life by her great aunt and great uncle, Mathilda Boutte Bertrand and Isaac Bertrand, Jr. (deceased), who served as steady, loving parental figures. Known lovingly by family and friends as Lacy, she was a woman of warmth, strength, and unmistakable style. Her independence, generosity, and resilience were not simply traits she possessed — they were the result of choices she made, lessons she lived, and love she gave freely. Everything about Rose — her independence, her giving heart, her strength — was earned. She shaped herself into the woman she became. Rose was a devoted mother to Kelly Weber Davillier (Matthew Scott) and a proud grandmother to Marcus Davillier and Matteo Scott. Her heart overflowed with love for her great-grandsons, Messiah O’Neal Davillier and Marcus O’Neal Davillier Jr., born to Marcus and his loving partner, Aaliyah Butler. She was the sister of John Boutte (Francine), Anthony Fisher, Sister Carmen Marie Bertrand, SSF, Mary Bertrand Kittles (Acosta), Frances Bertrand Myers (Clarence -deceased), and Patricia Bertrand. She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Eltha Boutte, and her great-grandparents, Eraste and Cecilia Young Boutte. Rose also shared a close and caring companionship with Mr. Hawkins, a special friend who remained an important part of her life. Rose also worked in the healthcare field, driven by her deep love for helping others. Her career included time at Earl K. Long Medical Center in Baton Rouge and University Hospital and Medical Center of Louisiana in New Orleans, where her care and compassion touched many lives. She shared parts of her journey in marriage with Nathaniel Weber (deceased) and Jan Davillier. Rose was a faithful member of Church of Life Fellowship, where she worshipped regularly and paid her tithes with devotion and consistency. She lived life with unmatched flair and generosity. She loved decorating and had a natural gift for making any space feel warm and beautiful. She was a giver in every sense of the word—always bringing gifts and special care packages. If you ever visited her home, you did not leave empty-handed. She loved to travel, to shop, and—most of all—she lived life her way. She leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and dear friends. She also leaves her godchildren: Ronyelle Bertrand Ricard, Desi Goodwill, Brandon Weber, and Kelsi Myers, who each held a special place in her heart. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, April 26, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Williams Funeral Home, officiated by Pastor John Anderson. The family invites all who knew and loved Rose to come and honor the remarkable woman she was and the legacy of love and generosity she leaves behind.
