Shelia Watson Hubbard September 2, 1959 ~ May 9, 2016 Lebeau Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, May 14, 2016 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Lebeau, LA for Mrs. Shelia Watson Hubbard., 56, who entered eternal rest on Monday, May 9, 2016 at her residence in Palmetto, Louisiana. Interment will be held in the church cemetery. Fr John O'Hallaran, SSJ will conduct the Mass of Christian Burial. The heart of the home is the wife and mother who provides unconditional love to her family. For (John 15:5), “the same can be said for you, as mother; for all life, all wellness, all goodness, and all love, flow from your heart to your husband and children and out to the world. Yes, you are the heart of your home.” Shelia Watson Hubbard lived a God-fearing life with a purpose to love and be loved. Love transcended heaven and Earth and God called her home on May 9, 2016 to rejoin her husband, Michael, in heaven to be together for eternity. Shelia was born on September 2, 1959 to the late John Robert and Mary Ell Watson. Always with a beautiful smile and kind heart, she graciously served as wife, mother and grandmother. She was blessed to marry her soulmate and their love story would span nearly four decades. Shelia and Michael became one unit, there wasn’t one without the other. The love they shared was unconditional, without boundaries and sanctioned by God. One heart without the other is incomplete, true love drew her to her husband in heaven forever more. A mother’s love is always enduring. To Daniel, Jay and Michael Jude, she would give her all. She showered her grandchildren with a love that only a grandmother could and relished in the role she played in their lives. Honoring and cherishing her memories are her sons, Daniel Hubbard (Kendall) of Tulsa, Oklahoma, John Joseph Hubbard (Katina) and Michael Jude Hubbard (Tina) both of Palmetto, LA; grandchildren, Tevin, Kennedy, John Michael, Kasey, Briah, Bryce, Brayden, and Bishop; sisters, Clara Gordon (Fitzgerald) and Thelma Easley (Benere, Jr.) both of Houston, TX; brothers, Fredrick Watson (Sharon), Kenneth Watson (Chandra), Bobby Watson (Beverly) and Bruce Watson (Helen) all of Houston, TX; brother’s-in-law Curtis Jean of Fairfield, CA, Joseph Hubbard of Vacaville, CA, James Hubbard (Anne) of San Antonio, TX, Larry Hubbard, John Hubbard and Steven Hubbard all of Opelousas, LA; sister’s-in-law, Theresa Malveaux (Austin) of Lake Charles, LA, Barbara Jones of Fresno, CA, Cathy Goree (Lawrence) of Dallas, TX, Glenda Chenier of Plaisance, LA and Brenda Thomas (Joseph) of Opelousas, LA; and godchild Sheena C. Batiste. Also cherishing her memories are a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, John Robert & Mary Ell Watson; husband, Michael Barry Hubbard; father & mother-in-law, Joseph Woodrow & Lillian Carmouche Hubbard; sisters, Betty Watson & Delores Watson; sister-in-law, Helen Jean; brother’s-in-law, John Cole, Benere Easley, Jr., Oswald Hubbard, Clifford Jones, Nacy Richard, Jr. & Robert Chenier. The family is requesting that visiting hours be observed from 8:00 AM until 10:45 AM Saturday, May 14, 2016 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Lebeau, LA.
