Mr. Vincent Michael Eaglin

Mr. Vincent Michael Eaglin Funeral services for Mr. Vincent M. Eaglin, 97, will be held on Saturday, March 7, 2026, at 12:00 PM with a Mass of Christian Burial at Holy Ghost Catholic Church in Opelousas, LA. Mr. Eaglin entered eternal rest on Thursday, February 26, 2026, at his residence. Interment will be held Monday, March 9, 2026, at 11:00 AM in Southwest Louisiana Veterans Cemetery in Jennings, LA. Mr. Eaglin honorably served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He was the recipient of the Combat Infantry Badge, the Korean Service Medal with four bronze stars, and a Purple Heart Medal with two Oak Leaf Clusters. Mr. Eaglin was a lifelong resident of Opelousas and a parishioner of Holy Ghost Catholic Church. He spent over 50 years in the hospitality industry as a bartender along with various other occupations. Vincent was known for his succulent barbecue, his meticulous garden, being an impeccable dresser, and his quirky sense of humor. He enjoyed listening to music and singing along, as well as his routine card games and trips to the track. Survivors include his two daughters, Cheryl Eaglin Bostick of Opelousas, LA and Debra (Shed) Williams of Beaumont, TX; one son, Michael D. Eaglin of Port Barre, LA; former spouse, Jeanette Paillet of Opelousas, LA; two granddaughters, Alaina Castillo of Beaumont, TX and Anastasia Bostick of New Orleans, LA; two great granddaughters, Amaya Castillo and Meela Castillo of Beaumont, TX; two sisters, Mary Helen Doby of Rancho Cucamonga, CA and Theresa White of Opelousas, LA; one brother, Raymond (Mary Joe) Eaglin of Atlanta, GA; two sisters-in-law, Sandra Eaglin of Opelousas, LA and Daisy Eaglin of Prattville, AL; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Mr. Eaglin was preceded in death by his parents, Willie Eaglin Sr. and Helen Jolivette Eaglin; three brothers, Leo Eaglin, William Eaglin and Willie Eaglin Jr.; two sisters, Wilda Foreman and Florence (Herbert) Carrier and one brother-in-law, Wallace Doby. The family kindly requests that visitation be observed on Saturday from 9:00 AM until 11:30 AM at Williams Funeral Home, concluding prior to the service time. A Rosary will be recited at 10:00 AM at the funeral home.
