He lived most of his life in the community of Prairie Laurent. He died on Saturday, July 10, 2021 at his home in Prairie Laurent. Herbert graduated from J. S. Clark High School in 1957. He spent a few years in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma where he gained auto mechanic skills with the excellent guidance of his “Uncle Pete”, Pierre Barnaba. When he returned home, he worked as a mechanic and later became a bus driver with the St. Landry Parish School System. He looked forward every day to driving his bus. The children loved him and affectionately called him “Mr. Fuse’. He especially enjoyed traveling with the Opelousas Senior High School Band. After 44 years as a bus driver, he retired. Blue was an excellent cook who didn’t mind “burning” his pot all day. His family truly enjoyed the gumbo, slow roasted duck, and the delicious brisket prepared on the pit. He was an iconic member of the Inseperable Friends Benevolent Society in his beloved Prairie Laurent. Our fondest memories will forever be that of a loving father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend who touched our lives in so many special ways. Blue leaves to cherish his legacy, his daughter Erika Fuselier LeDay (Marcus); four sons, Kerry O. Fuselier, Sr. (Shannon), Kendall D. Fuselier (Louise), Kevin Guillory (Yolanda), and Trai Pickney; six sisters, Jeanette F. Auzenne, Nellie F. Burks, Regina F. Guillory (Al), Earline F. Guilbeau (Herd), Janell F. Rideaux (Gerald), and Debra F. Guillory (Samuel); ten grandchildren, Mylan J. Leday, Marion J. Leday, Malaya J. Leday, Mason J. Leday, Taylor Fuselier, Kerry O, Fuselier, Jr., Kamille E. Briggs; a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, Aristile Fuselier, Jr. and Josephine Barnaba Fuselier; two sisters, Merline F.
