Mr. James Maclamore Richardson

James Maclamore Richardson, 68, of Opelousas, La., passed away on Thursday, July 22, 2021, at 8:17 a.m. He was born in Lafayette, La., on July 1, 1953, to parents James L. Richardson and Gustavia Linton. James was the firstborn and only son of five children. James graduated from Holy Ghost High in 1971. This is where he met his first love Deborah A.Norman, whom he later married. Through this union they were blessed with two daughters; Yolanda (Yogi) and Tomika (Mikki). In 1974, he joined the United States Army, where he served as a Sergeant for ten years. After he completed that journey, he went on to work offshore and obtained his CDL for truck driving. James leaves behind his only surviving daughter, Tomika Richardson-Dancer of Houston, TX, his mother Gustavia Richardson, four sisters Cynthia Augustine (Joseph Patrick Augustine), Connie Richardson-Bobonea (Al Bobonea), Kathleen Arceneaux (Wilton Arceneaux), and Mary Annette Rideaux (Alvin Rideaux) all who resides in Opelousas, La. To carry on his legacy, he has left behind his four grandchildren: Blake Thibodeaux of Springfield, MO, Karena Thibodeaux of Humble, TX, Jacoby Dancer of Houston, TX, and Jaquan Dancer of Houston, TX. Along with six great-grandchildren; Jason Randle III, Jazelle Randle, Xander Thibodeaux, Avery Dancer, and Landen Dancer. Along with a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles, and friends. James was known for his early morning bible study time with God and listening to his favorite Bishop T.D. Jakes. He loved to barbeque and was amazing at it too. He was also known for his random dancing, silly facial expressions, and his silly sayings. He was a man that no matter what he still found time to acknowledge God. He was a man with a big heart. If he had it and you needed it, then you had it. He had such a great love for his two girls and he always reminded everyone of how proud he was of them. James is proceeded in death by his oldest daughter Yolanda Elizabeth Richardson, father James L. Richardson, grandmother Amelia Fontenot, and the love of his life, his daughter mother, Deborah A. Norman. Memorial services will be held at 1:00 PM Saturday, August 7, 2021 at Williams Funeral Home in Opelousas, LA.
