Ms. Mary Emma "Maw Maw" Lee Plumber

April 15, 1938 - March 21, 2022

Ms. Mary Emma “Maw Maw” Lee Plumber Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, April 2, 2022, at Opelousas Greater First Apostolic Church in Opelousas, LA, for Ms. Mary E. Plumber, 83, who entered eternal rest, Monday, March 21, 2022, at Hospice of Acadiana Calcutta House of Lafayette surrounded by her children and immediate family. Interment will be in St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church Cemetery in Grand Coteau, LA. Rev. Gregory Leday will officiate the services. Ms. Plumber is survived by two daughters, Brenda A. Harvey of Opelousas, LA and Kimberly A. Plumber of Lafayette, LA; one son, James Richard of San Jose, CA; seventeen grandchildren, to include the granddaughter she raised, Jamaica Richard of Lafayette, LA, thirty great grandchildren, eight great-great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Ms. Plumber was preceded in death by her husband, Wilmer “Paw Paw” Plumber parents, Albertha Richard (Bailey) & Alcee Richard; and maternal grandparents, James Bailey and Alice Bailey; eleven sisters, Mary Rose Richard, Martha Richard (Pierre), Pearl Richard (Thomas), Mable Richard (Blackwell), Elza Richard, Ida Richard (Henry), Alberta Richard, Bertha “Sue” Richard (Henry), Helen Richard (Pillette), Joyce Mae Richard, and Lela Richard; five brothers, Curtis Clifton Richard, Alcee Richard, Overton Richard, Joseph Richard, Johnny Richard, and Freddy Rubin; and a nephew, Kenneth Richard. Visiting hours will be observed from 8:00 AM to 11:00 AM Saturday, April 2, 2022, at Opelousas Greater First Apostolic Church.
