Mr Merrick M. Butler

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 5, 2022, at 10:00 A.M. at Holy Ghost Catholic Church, 732 N. Union Street for Mr. Merrick Murl Butler. Interment will be in Bellevue Memorial Park, 4833 Hwy 182 S., Opelousas, LA 70570. Pastor, Rev. Lambert Lien, S.V.D. will officiate the Mass of Christian Burial. Mr. Merrick M. Butler who was born February 24, 1928, entered eternal rest on Tuesday, February 22, 2022, at 4:18 P.M. in the comfort care of Gilbert Assisted Living Center in Beaumont, TX surrounded by family and loved ones. He was the third of five children born to the union of the late Mr. Carlton Butler and Mrs. Laura Pierre-Auguste Butler. His life will be celebrated in very sweet remembrance by his brother, Morris Butler of California; sister, Georgie Butler of Opelousas, LA; son, John Butler (Rhonda); daughter Arlene Minkins (Calvin), (5) grandchildren, (4) great grandchildren, (1) great-great grandchild and a host of other relatives and special friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, Anna Rose Butler; father and mother, Carlton & Laura Pierre-Auguste Butler; brothers, Layton Butler and John J. “Neg” Butler. To Our Father… Dad, we will always have you in our hearts. We will always remember the love you had for us over the years, you were our strength and courage to face the world. We will miss the conversation and the laughter, but most of all we will miss you, Dad. Gone, but you will never be forgotten.
