Mrs. Ollie Ruth Doucet Shaw

August 5, 1946 - June 18, 2022

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 25, 2022 at 1:00 P.M. at Emma Zion Baptist Church in Melville, LA for Ollie Ruth Doucet Shaw, 75, who entered eternal rest on Saturday, June 18, 2022 at Lady of the Oaks Retirement Manor in Lafayette, LA. Interment will be in Sweet Home Cemetery in Melville, LA. Rev. Berthel Lewis will officiate the Celebration of Life. Ollie leaves to cherish her memory and celebrate her legacy, her daughters, Chanci Shaw of Opelousas, LA and Cordese Jolivette of Sugarland, TX, as well as, the children of her late husband, Reginald Shaw of Melville, LA, Terry Shaw of Houston, TX and Vonda Maltie of Houston, TX; brothers: Clyde Young of Melville, LA and Robert Williams of Compton, CA; sister, Ruby Young of Melville, LA, godchildren, April Harris and Treyvion Williams, (14) fourteen grandchildren, (15) great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and special friends. Ollie Ruth Doucet Shaw was preceded in death by her husband Terry Shaw, parents, Harold Doucet and Helen Davis, stepmother Virginia Doucet, brothers, Charles Davis and James Walker, sister Marilynn Andrews, grandmother, Willie Mae Smith and godchild Karen Lewis. The family requests visiting hours be observed on Saturday, June 25, 2022 from 11:00 A.M. to 12:45 A.M. at Emma Zion Baptist Church, Melville, LA.
