Mrs. Carolyn Richard LeBlanc

Carolyn Richard LeBlanc was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, relative, and friend whose life was a blessing to all who had the privilege of knowing and loving her. Carolyn was born to the late Isabella and Willis Richard and was surrounded throughout her life by a large and loving family. She built a beautiful life centered on family, love, faith, and service to others. Carolyn was united in marriage to her beloved husband, the late Collins LeBlanc, Sr. Together, they built a family and created a legacy that will continue through the generations that follow them. Carolyn was blessed with many talents and gifts. She had a creative spirit and a remarkable ability to make things beautiful. Throughout her life, she was a decorator, former deputy, member of the color guard, pastry chef, and an exceptionally skilled typist. Her love for creativity even led her to take classes in the art of flower arranging, always finding new ways to create beauty and share it with those around her. Carolyn leaves to cherish her precious memory her son, Keenon LeBlanc (Michael); four daughters, Likia LeBlanc Thomas (John) of Lafayette, Louisiana, Charlotte Craven (Jimmie) of Lafayette, Louisiana, Rekeycha Leday (Cedric) of Lafayette, Louisiana and Kelly LeBlanc of Lafayette, Louisiana and one daughter-in-love, Crystal LeBlanc. She also leaves to cherish her memory her brother, Reginald Richard (Suzanne) of Lafayette, Louisiana; and her sisters, Patricia Richard, Margaret James, Brenda Joubert, Glenda Dominick, Phyllis Sonn, Sonequa Doucet, Shondell Joseph (Christopher), all of Opelousas, Louisiana, Sheila Brown (Alvin) of Huber Heights, Ohio and Mary Jones (Patrick) of Houston, Texas. She is also lovingly remembered by her 18 grandchildren, one great-grandchild, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and dear friends whose lives were touched by her presence. Carolyn was preceded in death by her husband, Collins LeBlanc, Sr.; her son, Collins LeBlanc Jr.; her parents, Isabella and Willis Richard; her brother, Gentry Richard; her maternal grandparents, Melonie and Jules Guillory and her paternal grandparents, Mary and Sidney Richard. Carolyn's earthly presence will be deeply missed, but the love she gave, the beauty she created, the family she nurtured, and the memories she leaves behind will remain. Her life was a light to those around her, and that light will continue to shine through every life she touched. A Celebration of Life will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday, August 29, 2026, at Holy Ghost Catholic Church in Opelousas, LA. Visitation will be observed from 7:00 AM until 9:30 AM at Williams Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Justin Arockiasamy, SVD. Following the Mass, burial will take place in Serenity Memorial Park, where the loved one will be laid to eternal rest.
