Mr. Clifton Peter Broussard GRAND COTEAU- Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Saturday, January 31, 2015 at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Grand Coteau, LA for Mr. Clifton Peter Broussard, 76, who entered eternal rest on Monday, January 26, 2015 at Regional Medical Center of Acadiana in Lafayette, LA. Interment will be held in the church cemetery. Father Nathan O’Halloran, S.J. will conduct the Mass of Christian burial. Clifton graduated in 1958 from J.S. Clark High School in Opelousas, LA. He then graduated from Labelle Barber School in 1959 and started his profession will Willie Gallow at Gallow’s Barber Shop. After the retirement of Mr. Gallow, Clifton became the sole owner. He loved talking about politics and playing football pools. He was also an avid hunter. Clifton was a devout Catholic and member of the Knights of Peter Claver. He attended Christ the King Catholic Church in Bellevue, LA where his father and brothers helped construct the building. Every Monday on his day off, he and his wife would visit Charlene Richard’s Shrine of the Sacred Heart and the Shrine of Eva Marie in Prairie Laurent, LA. Clifton is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Mary Lee Guillory Broussard of Church Point, LA; three sons, Peter Broussard (Candice) of Pearland, TX, Bryon Broussard of Church Point, LA and Dedrick Broussard (Angele) of Opelousas, LA; two daughters, Karen Gardiner (Craig) of Sunset, LA and Alcinda James (Albert) of Lawtell, LA; Eugene Perrodin (Rose) who was raised like a brother of Carencro, LA; fifteen grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Clifton was preceded in death by his parents, Cleopha Broussard and Althea Dargin Broussard; a daughter, Ann Cornel Broussard and three brothers, Clifford, Burley, and Leo Broussard. Visiting hours will be observed from 7:30 AM until 12:30 PM Saturday, January 31, 2015 at Williams Funeral Home in Opelousas, LA. A rosary will be recited at 10:00 AM.
