OPELOUSAS-Funeral services will be held privately for Mrs. Elise Marie Lazard, 63, who entered eternal rest on Saturday, May 16, 2020 in her residence. Interment will be in Serenity Memorial Park at noon on Saturday, May 23, 2020. Esprit (Crystal) of Opelousas, LA; a step-son, Warren Lazard, Jr. of Opelousas, LA; three step-daughters, Stacy Lazard, Tracy Lazard both of Lafayette, LA and Shawanna Lavergne of Opelousas, LA; three brothers, Roderick Smith, Patrick Stout both of Opelousas, LA and Don Juan Smith of Port Arthur, TX; two step-brothers, Fredrick Thomas and Jabbar Thomas of Baton Rouge, LA; two sisters, Cassandra Mann (Zachery) of Port Arthur, TX and Phyliss Smith of Baton Rouge, LA; a special caregiver, LaKeisha Cage; fourteen grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and special friends. Elise was preceded in death by her husband, Warren J. Lazard, Sr.; her parents, Allen and Dorothy Smith; a brother, Renwick Smith; a sister, Cathy Smith and a niece, Ebony Batiste.
