ELTA JONES AUZENNE Opelousas, Louisiana Funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, May 29, 2010, at St Leo the Great Catholic Church, in Leonville, Louisiana, for Mrs. Elta Jones Auzenne, 81, who peacefully departed on Monday, May 24, 2010, at Opelousas General Health System, in Opelousas, Louisiana. Mrs. Auzenne was a member of Mother Henrietta Denille, Court 46, Knights of Peter Claver Ladies Auxiliary, Leonville, Louisiana. Mrs. Auzenne was a beloved wife, loving mother, homemaker, and world class traveler. Interment will be in St. Leo the Great Catholic Church Cemetery, in Leonville, Louisiana. Rev. Kenneth Domingue, C.M.F. will officiate at the Mass of Christian burial. Mourning her departure, yet cherishing her sweet memories, is her beloved husband, Mr. Raoul Auzenne, Sr. of Opelousas, Louisiana. She is also survived by her children, eight sons, Norbert Auzenne (Dorothy) of Houston, Texas, Charles Medrick Auzenne (Irma) of Houston, Texas, Paul Auzenne (Marie) of Opelousas, Louisiana, Jack Auzenne (Merlene) of Opelousas, Louisiana, Raoul Auzenne, Jr. of Opelousas, Louisiana, John Auzenne (Celinda) of Deridder, Louisiana, Joseph James Auzenne (Linda) of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and Cleveland Auzenne (Queen) of Opelousas, Louisiana; one step-son, Blake Minnix (Tina) of Houston, Texas; five daughters, Charlene Vallaire (Morris) of Opelousas, Louisiana, Shirley Auzenne of Hampton, Virginia, Mary Mason (Darryl) of Opelousas, Louisiana, Nancy Carriere (John) of Opelousas, Louisiana and Sharon Arthurlee (Bobby) of Leonville, Louisiana; three brothers, Sidney Jones (Leona) of Opelousas, Louisiana, Alvin Jones (Barbara) of Houston, Texas and Milton Jones of Opelousas, Louisiana; one sister, Fannie Auzenne (Wilfred) of Opelousas, Louisiana; thirty nine grandchildren, thirty three great-grandchildren, a special friend, Theresa Roberts and a host of other relatives and wonderful friends, who will miss her dearly. Mrs. Auzenne was preceded in death by her parents, Jack & Bertha K. Jones; five brothers, Allen Jones, Evon Jones, Ernest Jones, Jack Jones and Alton Jones; two sisters, Francine Charlot and Hester Jerry. Visiting hours will be observed from 4:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M.
