Genneieve “Genny” Isle Harrell Donaldson was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and friend who passed away peacefully on October 28, 2025, at the age of 78. She was born in Palmetto, Louisiana, on September 13, 1947, to Willie Mena Collin Isles and Chester Isles. Genneieve built a successful career in the Oil and Gas industry, serving as a Health and Safety Technical Analyst until her retirement in 2007. Known for her no-nonsense attitude and strong opinions, she was deeply respected by her colleagues and loved ones alike. Beneath her tough exterior was a heart full of laughter, loyalty, and love. She enjoyed life and cherished every moment spent with family and friends. Known for her big heart and unapologetic spirit, Genneieve was by all standards a woman of grace and glamour. Always poised and polished, she took great pride in looking her best—her makeup perfectly applied, hair styled just right, nails flawless, and her outfits chosen with care and flair. Whether running errands or attending an event, she believed in showing up ready for any occasion. Her confidence, beauty, and unmistakable style left a lasting impression wherever she went. Genneieve was a true caregiver at heart, she spent the last five years of her life devotedly caring for her daughter, Sharon. She also opened her home—and her heart over the years—to many family members in need, always making sure everyone felt welcome and loved. Affectionately known for being “the cool aunt,” Genneieve was the one who told it like it was— often with no filter. Her feisty spirit and candid honesty will forever be remembered with love and a smile. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, November 8, 2025, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Lebeau, Louisiana. Visitation will begin at 9:00 AM, followed by burial in the church cemetery. She is survived by her children Sharon Harrell of New Orleans, Louisiana, and Kevin Harrell (Monica) of New Orleans, Louisiana; grandchildren Felix Lewis (1 daughter, 2 sons) St. Louis, Missouri, Trey Avery, Tristin Harrell (2 sons Jayce and Taylor), Kennedi Harrell, and Kendyl Harrell. She also leaves behind her siblings Mildred Dix (Donald) of New Orleans, Ruby Harrell (the late Prince Albert) of Palmetto, LA and Donald Isles of Dallas, Texas—along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who adored her. She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings Rudolph Isles Sr., Raymond Isles, Chester Isles Jr., Joseph Maurice Isles, Kenneth Ray Isles and Patricia Isles.
