Mr. Joseph Anderson Tezeno

HIS STORY A man’s life is measured by the deeds he has done and the achievements he has made; Not by the number of days, months, and years he has lived. On Saturday, November 30, 2024, at 5:18 pm, Joseph Anderson Tezeno, better known as “Shorty”, departed his earthly body to be present with the Lord. Shorty was born to the late Camille and Clement Tezeno on September 25, 1941. He professed his faith in Christianity and was committed to the Catholic Community. Shorty was united in holy matrimony to his loving and devoted wife, Johnnie Mae Edwards Tezeno on April 23, 1964. Together, they enjoyed creating cherished memories of 60 years. Shorty loved to dance. He created his own parties and was the life of everyone else’s party. He had a love for large cowboy hats, fancy belt buckles, snap down collar shirts, blue Jean pants and top of the line cowboy boots. Shorty never met a stranger. People loved Shorty and Shorty loved people. If there was a need, you could count on him to service it as he was a man of his word. Shorty began his career in construction at an early age and soon became an entrepreneur. He opened Tezeno Construction as owner/operator where he was faithful and committed until he was physically disabled. Shorty was preceded in death by his parents, Camille and Clement Tezeno; sisters, Cieanna Tezeno, Mable Tezeno, and Mildred Tezeno; brothers, Harry James Tezeno and Hayward Tezeno; and daughter, Jacqueline Cobb. Shorty leaves to cherish his life, love and precious memories, his wife, Johnnie Mae Tezeno; one daughter, Evelyn Freiberg (John) of New Orleans, LA; two sons, Joseph Tezeno, Jr. (Beryl) of Lebeau, LA and Timothy Tezeno of Eunice, LA; one son-in-law, Lloyd Cobb of Morganza, LA; one brother, Gurvis Tezeno (Eula); one sister, Margie Tezeno; two sisters-in-law, Rosa Mae Tezeno and Luwella Tezeno; 8 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. Shorty’s footsteps can never be filled, nor his love ever forgotten❤️ Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday, December 7, 2024 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Lebeau, LA. Visiting hours will be observed from 8:00 AM to 10:00 AM at the church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
