Mr. Marvin John Lewis, Sr. A Celebration of Life honoring Mr. Marvin John Lewis, Sr., 53, will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, June 27, 2026, at Our Saviors Church in Opelousas, LA. Mr. Lewis peacefully entered eternal rest on Tuesday, June 16, 2026, at Ochsner Lafayette General Orthopedic Hospital. Family and friends are invited to gather for visitation from 8:00 AM on Saturday at Our Saviors Church. Following the celebration, Mr. Lewis will be lovingly laid to in St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church Cemetery in Grand Coteau, LA, a touching reunion that reflects the enduring bonds of family and love. Rev. Kenneth Brown will officiate the celebration as family and friends come together to honor Mr. Lewis' life, cherish precious memories, and give thanks for the legacy of love and kindness he leaves behind. Mr. Lewis leaves to cherish his memory his loving father, Charles T. Lewis, Sr. and his wife, Betty of Grand Coteau, LA; two devoted sons, Markeil Lewis of Lafayette, LA and Morgan Lewis of Hammond, LA; two beloved daughters, Markayla Lewis of Opelousas, LA and Destiny Manuel of Lafayette, LA and one cherished granddaughter, Derrionna Victorian. He also leaves behind seven sisters, Geneva Lewis of Lafayette, LA, Letarchia Lewis Fluellen (Charlie) of Stone Mountain, GA, Aretha Davis (Herman, Sr.) of Lafayette, LA, Stephanie Lewis of Lake Charles, LA, La’Kay Lewis of Grand Coteau, LA, Victoria Lewis of Grand Coteau, LA and Marie Shelvin (Sean) of Houston, TX; eight brothers, Robert Howard (Evelyn) of San Diego, CA, Marcus Minix (La'Terra) of Lafayette, LA, Jason Minix of Grand Coteau, LA, Charlie Minix of Grand Coteau, LA, Micheal Lewis (Kirsten) of Houston, TX, Charles Minix of Fayetteville, NC, Richard Mouton (Rachel) of Lafayette, LA and Ernest Mouton of Lafayette, LA; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Mr. Lewis will be reunited in Heaven with his beloved son, Marvin Lewis, Jr.; his mother, Elizabeth Brown Lewis Green and her husband, Richard; paternal grandparents and maternal grandparents.
