Obituary for Mary Lee Broussard Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 10, 2021, 10:30 A.M. at St. Charles Borromeo Church, Grand Coteau, Louisiana for Mary Lee Broussard, 83. Interment will be in St. Charles Cemetery. Mary Lee Broussard was born on June 3, 1938 to the late Telemark Guillory and Virginia Guidry Guillory in Lawtell, Louisiana. She quietly departed this life at her home in Church Point, LA on Wednesday, June 30, 2021. Mary Lee graduated from J.S. Clark High School and went on to marry her late husband Clifton Broussard, Sr. She was a great cook who was best known for her spicy food and delicious boudin. Her kitchen was known as the restaurant that never closed. Mary Lee was the best financial manager ever who managed to put five (5) kids through college on a barber’s salary. She was also an excellent seamstress who created many tailor made outfits, such as, wedding dresses, christening gowns, prom dresses, even pageantry gowns for the Belles in the Delta’s Beautillion. She even made wedding floral arrangements. Her most treasured tasks were those of a wife and mother. Her love was strong, and her giving was never ending. Mary Lee was a prayer warrior who led the rosary every Sunday in her reserved seat at Christ The King Church in Bellevue until her health began to fail and prevented her from attending Sunday services. Left to cherish her memories: her children Peter Broussard (Candice) of Pearland, TX, Karen Gardiner (Craig) of Sunset, LA, Alcinda James (Albert) of Church Point, LA, Bryon Broussard of Church Point, LA, and Dedrick Broussard (Angele) of Opelousas, LA; 17 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren along with a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Mary Lee was preceded in death by her parents, Telemark Guillory and Virginia Guidry Guillory, a daughter Ann Cornel Broussard, her husband Clifton Broussard, granddaughter Kierra Dior Gardiner, and siblings Kirkus Guillory, Lillie Brooks, Joyce Broussard, and Hayward Guillory. The family requests visiting hours be observed on Saturday, July 10, 2021 from 9:00 A.M. to 10:30 A.M. at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Grand Coteau, Louisiana.
