Mrs. Mary K. Marcel Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, November 6, 2020 at St. Leo the Great Catholic Church in Leonville, LA, for Mrs. Mary K. Marcel, 84, who entered eternal rest, Thursday, October 29, 2020 at Savoy Care Center in Mamou, LA. Interment will be in St. Leo the Great Catholic Cemetery. Father Darren Eldridge will officiate at the Mass of Christian burial. She was the oldest of four children. She was a dedicated and faithful member of St. Katherine/St. Leo Catholic Church in Leonville, La. She always put God and her family first every day. Dedicated to prayer she prayed her Rosary every day. Dedicated to prayer she prayed her Rosary every day. A Homemaker, “Nola” was a wonderful cook and masterful baker and used her talents to entertain everyone who entered her home. Family members made their way from near and far to her immaculately kept home for genuine hospitality and a taste, or more, of her delicious cooking. Always impeccably dressed for any occasion she was never without her hair done and makeup perfectly in place. Mrs. Marcel is survived by her loving and adoring husband, Mr. Albert C. Marcel, Sr. of Leonville, LA; her devoted son, Ricky Marcel of Leonville, LA; two cherished grandchildren, whom she loved with all of her heart, her only granddaughter Allison A. Marcel of Lafayette, LA and her only grandson Rico Marcel of Leonville, LA; a caring brother, Wilbert Kennerson of Houston, TX; her kindhearted daughter-in-law, Mrs. Tammy Young Marcel of Lafayette, LA; In-laws, Earl, Annabell Marie and Eva Marcel and Antoine Lewis, as well as a host of wonderful nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends. Mary “Nola” Marcel was preceded in death by her son, Deacon Albert C. Marcel, Jr.; parents, Armogene & Beatrice Kennerson; father and mother in law, J. B. Octave and Annabell Marcel, a sister, Leola K. Lewis and a brother, Leroy Kennerson. Visiting hours will be observed from 8:00 AM to 10:30 AM Friday, November 6, 2020 at Williams Funeral Home.
