With profound sadness and heartfelt love, we announce the passing of our dearly beloved, Oliver Tiller Jr., who entered eternal rest on Tuesday, July 14, 2026, at the age of 57. Mr. Tiller peacefully passed away while surrounded by his loved ones. Mr. Tiller’s life was marked by kindness, wisdom, generosity, and unwavering loyalty. He was a man people could depend on—a mentor, a friend, a leader, and a source of strength for so many. His legacy is not only found in his accomplishments but in the lives he touched, the values he instilled, and the love he freely gave. He was a man whose life reflected faith, leadership, service, and an unwavering love for his family and friends. Mr. Tiller lived a life worth celebrating. Family and friends are invited to gather in remembrance and support during visitation on Saturday, July 25,2026 from 9:00 AM to 11:45 AM at the Shiloh Baptist Church. 419 Buhot St., Washington, LA. His Celebration of Life will begin at 12:00 PM. Rev. Ronald Freeman Sr. will be officiating. Mr. Tiller will be laid to rest in the Cedar Hill Cemetery, Washington, Louisiana. Mourning his departure are his loving wife, Debra Patterson Tiller; four sons, Tyler Tiller (Carlisa), Toran Tiller, Treylon Tiller, and Thean Tiller; two daughters, Tia Tiller (Chondre) and Taylor Tiller (Camryn). Mr. Tiller’s greatest joy was being “Papa” to his five beloved grandsons: Cairo, Carson, Colton, Canaan, and Cailen. They brought immeasurable happiness to his life, and he cherished every opportunity to spend time with them. In addition to his beloved wife and children, Mr. Tiller also leaves to cherish his memory his sister, Angela Austin (James); brother, Sean Tiller (Semecia), caring Godmother, Liler Florence; a loving extended family which includes cherished sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, a host of nieces, nephews, Godchildren, cousins, and countless dear friends who will forever hold his memory close to their hearts. Mr. Tiller was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Alice Florence Tiller, and Oliver Tiller Sr.; his brother, Vincent Ray Tiller Sr.; his Godfather Lucius Florence Jr., his maternal grandparents, Alice Savant Florence, and Lucius Florence Sr.; and paternal grandparents; Allie Faulk and Minnie Mae Chatt. The Tiller family would like to express their sincere gratitude to everyone for their prayers, shared memories, words of comfort, visits, phone calls, texts, and the many acts of kindness shown during their time of bereavement. The immeasurable amount of love and support given will always be remembered and appreciated. Williams Funeral Home of Opelousas, Louisiana has been entrusted with the arrangements.
