OPELOUSAS- Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, August 3, 2013 at St. Leo Catholic Church in Leonville, LA for Mr. Ulton Mayon, Sr., 84, who entered eternal rest, Wednesday, July 24, 2013 at St. Landry Extended Care in Opelousas, LA. Interment will be in St. Leo Catholic Church Cemetery. Mr. Mayon is survived by his loving wife of 63 ½ years Philoman Thomas Mayon of Leonville, LA. Also mourning his departure and cherishing his loving memories are six sons Ulton “June” Mayon, Jr. (Laurie) of Cecilia, LA, Carlton “Jackie” Mayon (Anastasia), Phillip Mayon (Sandra) both of Leonville, LA, Gerald “Fly” Mayon, Sr. (Danielle) of Opelousas, LA, August “Ray” Mayon (Pamela) of Baton Rouge, LA and Stephen “Ken” Mayon (Megan) of Middle Town, CT; three daughters Betty Plumbar (John) of Carencro, LA, Mary “Bob” Lazard of Church Point, LA and Janice White (Carl, Sr.) of Opelousas, LA, 31 grandchildren and 33 great grandchildren; three brother-in-laws Joseph “T-Boy” Thomas and Leland “Boo Bay” Thomas, Sr. (Earline) both of Leonville, LA, and Carlton Thomas, Jr. (Linda) of Opelousas, LA; seven sister-in-laws Felozia T. Reed of Houston, TX, Rosemary Richard (friend Preston) of Leonville, Verlia T. Lewis (Joseph Sr.), Louanna T. Williams (Jimmy), Janella T. Beverly (JC) all of Opelousas, LA, and Elizabeth T. Green (Ronald Sr.) of Houston, TX, and Geraldine Thomas of Leonville, LA; three godchildren Janelle Beverly, Thomas H. (Bubble) Lewis, and Bernard Mayon; a cousin Willis Savoie; and special people: Felozia Reed (like a sister and mother), Tasha Mayon, Leland “Boo Bay” Thomas, Sr. (like a son), Ronald Green (like a brother), Frank Mayon, Joseph “T-Boy” T. Thomas, Carlton Thomas, Lawrence Thomas, Sr., Wilson Auzenne, and Albert Mayon, Sr. Mr. Mayon was preceded in death by his parents August and Mary Reed Mayon, three brothers Hilton (Lillian) Mayon, Clifton (Mildred) Mayon, and Joseph (Martha) Mayon, four sisters Francis Mayon, Josephine (Adam) Clark, Beatrice (Jones) Douglas and Clara Mae Jones, two grandchildren Phillip Mayon, Jr. and Hailey F. Mayon, one-greatgrandchild Benjamin Mayon, one son-in-law Charles Lazard, Sr. and three brother-in-laws Ernest Reed, Joseph Richard and Paul (Verna) Johnson.
